Working After Cancer Cancer is one of the diseases that is caused by uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in your body. Cancer leads to uncontrolled growth in the body that causes a lump called a tumor. People who have successfully completed the cancer treatment and they are healed can always go back to work. Going back to work after cancer treatment gives you a sense of who you are and how you can fit in again. It will help you boost your income as well as your self-esteem. You will be knowing that you have a life away from cancer if you go back to work. At work you can be a valued co-worker, a valued employee and a trusted boss. When you go back to work you will have regular contact with people and this will help you forget about the cancer treatment. You will also feel comfortable being around people because at times the cancer may make you feel lonely and isolated. Always contact your employer before going back to work so that you can check on the options they have for you. As you take the job ask them if they can offer you a job that will ease your mind and body. There are some people who will cope very fast with full-time job and others will take some time to adjust. You will find it difficult for you to focus when you go back to work at first but with time you will cope. As you get back to your normal life you should take care of yourself. You will be able to get back to your normal life by talking to your co-workers. Check on how open you are with your co-workers and if you can speak to them about your cancer sickness and treatment. In some working environments you will not benefit sharing your cancer experience. You should not share your cancer journey in organizations that are very competitive or fast paced working environments. If you don’t get an opportunity to share your experience you should never feel pressured. It is important to seek legal protection when you go back to work after the cancer treatment. Regardless your cancer situation you will be having some rights as an employee and you should be given equal opportunities like others. Your treatment at work should depend entirely on your qualifications and abilities. Legally you are not supposed to be fired because you are sick as long as you are fulfilling your duties and responsibilities. It is good to consider the accommodation at work when you report to work after cancer treatment. The employer should not lower the standards so that they can accommodate an employee.Case Study: My Experience With Resources
