Odi Lostcast 62 – Interview With Henry Ian Cusick

Hey All,
Earlier today I had a chance to speak with LOST Actor Henry Ian Cusick who plays the fan favorite Desmond Hume.

It was a fun little interview and he was really candid with his replies. We chatted about the Desmond and Penny relationship, filming some scenes such as the call in The Constant and the Underwater scene in Happily Ever After. I also asked him some questions about last week’s episode and what we should expect from Desmond.

I did ask him how much we will see Desmond and he did give an answer. We also talk about if he was satisfied with how Desmond ends the season and he talks about there being a secret scene in the finale that no one knows about yet, but will be filmed soon.

Since there are some minor spoilers and potential minor finale spoilers Andy asked me to post a link to the podcast in the spoilers section.

The interview was posted to iTunes earlier today, but below is a link to the audio player and download link for those that can not access iTunes.

Thanks to all of you that submitted questions and I hope you all enjoy!

No new footage I’m afraid 🙁

Getting Lost – Has Desmond Been Claimed?

Thanks to ShirtlessLocke for the heads up.

It’s a really bad sign when you wake up from a Lost-sized explosion and follow evil Sayid (Naveen Andrews) into the jungle. So what has become of Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick)? Cusick, our constant, tells TVGuide.com that Desmond has not been claimed like Claire et al; it’s actually quite the opposite. He also drops a hint about the finale, including what the Man in Black wants with Desmond.

Thomas: Any word on Lost?
Just wait until you see episode 14 (a few weeks away). It is what the kiddies call a “game changer.” You’re gonna die.

Latest From Fancast – Julie Bowen Won’t Be Back

Cindy, Charlotte, Fisher Stevens… ‘Lost’ seems to be bringing back everybody this season. Who else is coming? – George
It has been a parade of familiar faces as ‘Lost’ counts down its tanggapan episodes – this week’s Hurley-centric outing “resurrects” Michael and Libby – but one person you won’t see again is Jack’s wife Sarah. Though there was speculation that Julie Bowen sneaked in some ‘Lost’ lovin’ when ‘Modern Family’ filmed in Hawaii last month, she assures me, “That’s just a rumor. I would have loved to have done more for ‘Lost’ – I’m a huge fan of the show – but…” it was not meant to be. As such, it’s looking like the mother of Sideways Jack’s son is Juliet. “No, it’s not!” Bowen rebuts, getting a bit possessive. She then grumbled under her breath, “Jack, that bastard!”

Harold Perrineau Interview

Thanks to http://tv-shows.ru/ for the heads up.

Unlike most of the other dead characters who have stopped by for Lost’s tamat season, Harold Perrineau’s Michael makes a return to the island, in part to unlock a mystery.

“I think they brought everybody back so they can answer all these questions,” Perrineau tells TVGuide.com of his appearance Tuesday night (9/8c, ABC). “I got to go back and answer one of the bigger questions ΓÇö not necessarily about Michael, but one of the bigger questions about the island.”

Michael, who Perrineau assures us is most definitely dead, is also on a mission to help Hurley (Jorge Garcia), the island’s resident ghost whisperer. “Hurley’s in a position that he’s not comfortable being in now the he’s sort of a leader,” Perrineau says. “There are a bunch of things going on, and Hurley has to step up a little bit. So Michael’s helping him do that.”

Also appearing to Hurley is his unrequited love, Libby (Cynthia Watros), who Michael shot and killed in Season 2. Perrineau says everything Michael did after that ΓÇö including his self-sacrifice on the freighter in Season 4 ΓÇö has been in search of redemption.

“[What he did] on the freighter is the only redemption I guess Michael is going to get,” Perrineau says. Nevertheless, Michael will have a chance to make amends for killing Libby.

“I did get to apologize,” Perrineau told us in February. “And every time I did it, it was really emotional. There was something really nice about it. It’s not just apologizing to her, but an apology to Hurley.”

Perrineau says he loved having the opportunity to shoot scenes one last time during the tamat season and that he’s pleased with his character’s coda.

“It’s the last season, so everything feels nostalgic,” he says. “The first year, you got introduced to characters that you fell in love with. Through the years, it’s been this big story, and I liked that. But [those characters] have come back, and I think that’s a really great thing for the fans who really did love those characters from the beginning. It’s a great little bookend to at least get to say, ‘OK, goodbye, Michael.'”

Jorge Garcia Teases Tonight’s Episode

Thanks to Annie for the heads up.

Lost fans are still buzzing about last week’s “Happily Ever After” episode, which finally began making sense of the two timelines and how love plays into it all.

Well, Tuesday night’s Hurley-centric episode, “Everybody Loves Hugo,” continues with that theme. Although actor Jorge Garcia was tight-lipped about it in a recent interview, he did say this:

“There’s definitely a turning point about to happen,” Garcia said. “Right around the middle of the season, all those deja vu moments in the sideways timeline, you’ll see stuff come to a head and the whole season turns the corner. And stuff really gets interesting.”

“Everybody Loves Hugo” will show more of Hurley’s life in the sideways timeline. Viewers saw a glimpse of that in a previous episode when he appeared to Locke as the successful entrepreneur who owns the company Locke worked for. But there’s more to Mr. Reyes than that.

“This new Hurley episode shows that everything seems great for Hurley, but maybe not everything’s great,” Garcia said.

The episode marks the return of Harold Perrineau, Cynthia Watros and Lillian Hurst as Hurley’s mother. There’s also a special guest star that Garcia announced on his blog.

The cast and crew are currently working on the top-secret series finale, which is scheduled to wrap on April 24. Of course, Garcia kept mum about that as well but did say he was “very satisfied” with the way “Lost” ends.

And that was with a chunk of the finale script still missing.
